Do You Care Enough?
INTRODUCTION: The book of Nehemiah is about a man that was not a priest like Ezra. He was not a scribe. He was not a prophet. He was layman who had the job of cupbearer to the king of Persia. He did not have an obligation to be a religious leader like Ezra did. We see here early on in the book though, a man who cared about God, cared about God’s people, cared about God’s work. Indifference is what is killing our churches. Indifference is what is making people feel unloved. Indifference is what is destroying our nation. We need desperately in our day men and women who are not preachers but are people that care deeply for the people and things of God. We see in this first chapter the example of care that Nehemiah gives. We are going to look at five things that Nehemiah cared enough to do that you should care enough to do as well.
- CARE ENOUGH TO ASK (VS. 1-3)
- CARE ENOUGH TO CRY (V. 4)
- CARE ENOUGH TO PRAY (VS. 5-10)
- CARE ENOUGH TO VOLUNTEER (V. 11)
CONCLUSION: Do you care enough, enough to ask what the facts are instead of going about ignoring so that you can live comfortably? Do you care enough to cry over the heart breaking situations that you find when you ask? Do you care enough to pray to God about the situation? And do you care enough to do something about what you have heard
