Job 1:2-12
Handling the Blessings of God
INTRODUCTION: We think of Job as the man that was afflicted by Satan because God gave Satan permission to do it. We talk about him as a man whose faith was tested. But the book of Job starts off by telling us how much Job was blessed. God had given Job great things. We read here in the first part of this book about the large family that he was blessed with, the great life that he had, the protection that God had put around him and how that God had given him livestock and everything he needed, not only to live, but to live well. We find in this passage the way to handle the blessings of God. God has given you so much. How should you act as a result?
I. PRAY FOR YOUR FAMILY THAT GOD HAS GIVEN (VS. 2-5)
II. DEDICATE THE LIFE THAT GOD HAS GIVEN (VS. 6-8)
III. CHERISH THE PROTECTION THAT GOD HAS GIVEN (VS. 9-12)
IV. BE THANKFUL FOR THE PROVISION GOD HAS GIVEN (V. 10)
CONCLUSION: God has given to you all the same things that He had given to Job. You have a family that you should be praying for every day that they will serve God with their lives. You have a life that God has given that you should give completely back to Him. Understand and appreciate that you are protected by God every day and cherish that protection. Be thankful that God has given you everything you need in life.
