God Works Even When You Don’t Know
INTRODUCTION: If we see anything in the book of Esther, it is the hand of God at work. Here in this chapter we have God working in the middle of the night and on into the morning without Esther or Mordecai knowing anything about it. In fact, God does most of His work without our knowledge. Let me show you an example through this story. God works:
- THROUGH SLEEPLESS NIGHTS (V. 1)
- THROUGH THE CHOICES OF PEOPLE (VS. 1-2)
- THROUGH DELAYED REWARDS (V. 3)
- THROUGH THE SINS OF PEOPLE (VS. 4-9)
CONCLUSION: We see in vs. 10-14 that Haman was forced to do this honor to Mordecai. And as he shares this with his wife and his wise men, look what they said. “Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him.” You see, they got it. They understood that fighting against God’s people was not going to work out for Haman. They saw the work that God was doing to save Mordecai and His people. Look around in your life, and you will see too, that God is working even when you are not watching.
